How To Create Soft Curls || Hair Extensions
Hi! If you're just finding Beauty By Lindsay, Welcome! My name is Lindsay, and I'm a stylist and salon owner who specializes in Luxury Hair Extensions and Lived-In Color. I have been a fully Licensed NBR® Artist since June 2021 (which means I've been going through their continuing education since 2018--that's a serious commitment!), and I'm also certified in The Harper Ellis Concealed Bead Method. Both of these are beaded row extension methods that use handtied wefts to add length and fullness to your natural hair. Whew!
I've been wearing this type of extensions since I started learning how to do them, and one thing I've loved about it is how low maintenance my styling is all week long. Day 1 (wash day) is a little bit more effort, but then the rest of my week is so easy! Either I brush my hair (ok, sometimes I don't even do that lol), or I refresh my curls a little with my iron.

I typically sleep in a style that helps protect my extensions and my curls (a locking twist, loose braid, or high bun) so when I get up and shake it out, my extensions are in great shape for the day. On the days I need a little boost, I'll separate smallish sections of my natural hair and refresh the curls here and there. My natural hair literally slips out of the iron it's so silky, so curls don't last for me like they do on my extensions!
I take a section of hair, about an inch or so, start my iron about midshaft, and roll it toward the scalp. I hold if for a couple of seconds, opening the iron to slide down to grab more of the strand, and wrap up again. I repeat this until I get to the ends, and let go of the piece, leaving a nice, soft curl. This method creates a softer wave, rather than a tighter beach wave type of curl. It is definitely a more relaxed vibe.
Once my curls cool, I'll gently shake them out with my fingers, and set with a touch of dry texture spray or medium hold hairspray (obsessed with Davines and Moroccanoil!) That's it. I'm ready for the day!
I know it can seem overwhelming going from no hair to stacks of long, luscious locks--but I'm here for you every step of the way! It's really not that hard! And once you experience the bounty of hair and CONFIDENCE with these hair extensions in your life, you will never want to go back to your old hair. Promise!
