Hello, Beauty!

It's officially the HOLIDAYS!!! I am off for an uninterrupted ten days with my family, and I am so excited for all the good things that entails!! Of course, I will still have to do dishes and laundry unless Santa brings me a housekeeper, but at least we'll be home together!

If you don't know, my name is Lindsay Crance, and I own Strands Salon in beautiful Corning, New York. I opened my salon nearly four years ago with the mission to create beautiful hair in the way that felt authentic to me.

About seven years ago, I got really sick, and was ultimately diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Sarcoidosis. There is no cure, but it can sometimes spontaneously go into remission for years at a time.

Unfortunately, my case has not remitted, and I continue to take heavy medications that create their own side affects. As a result of this disease and treatment, I have dealt with quite significant hair loss over the last several years.

You can probably guess that being a professional stylist while struggling with this insecurity was uncomfortable. Not only did I feel like I had to work harder in order to cover up the illness, but my confidence due to my hair was really becoming an issue.
